There seemed to be an accidental extra tribute to Margaret Thatcher from the Beeb in their coverage of her funeral today.
Even as the queen of lay-offs was being carried up the aisle of St Paul’s Cathedral today, the live news feed on the BBC’s footage showed the latest unemployment figures, which feature a big rise.
Emphasising Thatcher’s legacy — unemployment peaked at over five million in her time — the bad news continued to scroll even as Thatcher’s acolyte Diddy David Cameron did his reading thing, repeating again and again that joblessness was on the way up.
Nice job, BBC. Not that you’re likely to have one for long.
